are you running intrepid, hardy or jaunty?

the AR242x / Atheros 5007 is supported with a newer patched mad wifi
hal, or by using the backports module “linux-backports-modules"

In jaunty, ath5k ( a different driver than mad wifi) supports ar242x out
of the box.

Bug description:
I have tried every document available on this forum to get my Dell laptop on my home wireless network to no avail.

Here is some of the things that I have already tried:
