Bug description:
Binary package hint: linux-backports-modules-intrepid

I am new to Linux and purchased a new Compaq Presario Laptop a couple of months ago. While I am extremely happy with the installation of Ubuntu Studio 8.04 I have on it at the moment, the big problem I have is that my Atheros ar5007 wireless does not work. I have been downloading the Alphas and Betas of Intrepid, still no joy. I am certain that Atheros make their Linux drivers freely available now, so what is the problem? Am I not doing something right? I would love for the wireless in my laptop to start working in Intrepid, if it doesn't I think I'll cry, as I have to keep using a D-Link usb wireless adapter which sticks out of the side and uses up one of my USB ports. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
