Message #00060
[Bug 1172214] [NEW] report-emacs-bug doesn't work unless you have emacs24-el installed
Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu 12.10
1. cleanly install emacs `apt-get install emacs24`
2. `M-x report-emacs-bug`
3. Expected: report-emacs-bug completes and leaves you in the email buffer to send your report
4. Actual: The "Load-path shadows:" step fails. The backtrace reveals that it is looking for "simple.el" and can't find it. (only simple.elc exists)
Work-around:
install emacs24-el and try again
** Affects: emacs24 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
