I'm just trying to get up-to-speed on Tim's request to test and I have a few questions ;^)

#1: Is this the right PPA:

Yes that is the one

#2: Should we just apply it all?
Yes

#3: I assume you'll want this tested with all flavors (and DE's), particularly Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu, and Edubuntu.
Is that correct? How about Lubuntu and Xubuntu?
The changes are really specific to Ubuntu GNOME, should really need cross distro testing.

#4: I also assume that it's best to start with fresh installs and/or upgrades - just mentioning that :^)
Either is find, so long as you don't have other PPA's (such as gnome3-staging or ricotz ppa's)

#5: Is there a "drop-dead" date for this testing before we drop the updates to "proposed"?
It will be ongoing until its ready, hopefully can get it uploaded in the next week or so though
As a side note, current known issues
  - popup menus: text is truncated, seperators are missing and some widgets are incorrect size

I noticed that the bottom of some text is very slightly cut-off, but still readable.

  - dialogs don't display any buttons

So I see. I couldn't find a Launchpad bug so I filed one with screenshots:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1265231

Hope that's OK.

  - Shortcut keys are not working (I previously fixed this on g3-next, but is probably better to patch gnome-shell instead)

At least Ctrl+Alt+Backspace takes me back to the login screen :^)

#6: What method does Tim prefer regarding reporting bugs with that PPA?
As with all the gnome3-team PPA's use ubuntu-bug, they will then get automatically filed against the ubuntu gnome project.

Thanks in advance,

Lance

PS: I'm focusing a great deal on Edubuntu's "flashback session" during Trusty dev simply because I must :^)

I also noticed that in the flashback w/metacity session some applets fail to load but when the 3.10 packages hit proposed (or the iso images) I'll take that up with Edubuntu dev.

Otherwise I find both the standard and classic sessions at least usable :^)
