So it sounds like you're running multiple desktop environments since you say "I can login to other consoles. I thing Gnome-shell is freezing", but I'm a lazy old American that only understands the english language so I may be wrong.
Can one of our other members jump in to help here?

I am running a real hardware.It's only freezing the tty7, I can login to other consoles. I thing Gnome-shell is freezing.

Hello!I am running the Gnome Trusty Thar and the Gnome interface frequently freezes. I can access the other tty consoles through the keyboard shortcut but I couldn't find the process that freezes. Tried to kill gnome-shell but the tty7 doesn't unfreeze.
How can I diagnose it?
