Re: [Ubuntugnome-qa] GNOME Boxes related bugs

Hello all,

I created ppa with rebuilded packages gnome-boxes and spice-gtk. Here is url: https://launchpad.net/~anton-sudak/+archive/gnome-boxes
Looks like spice-gtk just needed to rebuild against newer versions of gtk. gnome-boxes was fixed by adding --disable-usbredir to rules.

Hello all,

As per Ali's suggestion I post this information to mail list.
I filled bug about Boxes on Launchpad. Here is link https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1268598 . According to this bug gnome-boxes should be recompiled without USB redirection enabled by default, because QEMU in Ubuntu repositories doesn't support it. This issue affects not only package in staging repository, but also packages in Ubuntu repositories in saucy and trusty.

There is another issue with gnome-boxes. In staging repository for saucy present package named libspice-client-gtk-3.0-4 . I don't know what exactly wrong with it, but if it is installed Boxes fails to launch with next error:

gnome-boxes: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libspice-client-gtk-3.0.so.4: undefined symbol: gdk_broadway_window_get_type

This package from Ubuntu repository works fine.I didn't file issue about this bug, but if it needed I'll do.
