[Bug 1357535] Re: Yaesu FT-897 frequency drifts in rigctld
Probably this is an upstream bug, not the package. Please, report it to
Hamlib list: hamlib-developer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and close this

Title:
Yaesu FT-897 frequency drifts in rigctld
Status in hamlib package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
When doppler shifting in Gpredict, the static frequency changes. By
inserting test points into the source code, we traced this back to
hamlib getting feedback from the FT-897 that it interprets to be dial
tuning, so it adjusts the static frequency and therefore 'drifts' off
frequency. We tried in an older version of hamlib (1.2.10-3) and found
this still present as an issue.
The problem was initially thought to lie with Gpredict, but on further
troubleshooting is more likely with hamlib
(http://ehc.ac/p/gpredict/mailman/message/31445857/).
The problem is more obvious at higher frequencies (tested at UHF and
VHF, it was more present at UHF).
Setup has included all the following combinations:
Ubuntu 12.04.1, 14.04, 14.04.1
Gpredict 1.2,1.3,1.4
Hamlib 1.2.15.1-1, 1.2.15.3-2, 1.2.10-3
Yaesu FT-897
Hamlib was activated with
rigctld -m 123 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 38400
