Tonight at 7:00 we'll meet by the pool to hang out. I'll have my SDR and KX-1 there. We'll be near the Rackspace meet&greet, probably near the bar that's next to the pool, and find a table where we can throw a wire over a bush. I'll send another email later about the content for the Ubuntu-hams session tomorrow - we'll have a demo! The session is scheduled for 17:05-18:00 local time (21:05-22:00 UTC) in room Bonaire 2. You can participate remotely, listen to the session, and communicate with us using IRC. For details about that, see here: http://uds.ubuntu.com/participate/remote/ Steve AI4QR
I can't make this due to other responsibilities, but I was really looking forward to it. I hope you all have fun :)
And this just triggered a thought... I think it would be neat if, at UDSs, Ubuntu Hams who have gear they can bring could bring that gear and set up an actual special event station.
We could even print up Event QSL cards and run the station at certain hours throughout the week. It could serve also as a way to demo Ham Radio and Linux to the Ubuntu Community as well as just be fun to make some contacts.
Anyway, that was just a thought I had. Have fun at the pool tonight :)
