Hi :)
There is probably a German wiki somewhere. Have you found the official
Ubuntu German website?
Search for "LoCo" teams. LoCo stands for 'Local Community'. Although
almost all languages are spoken and mixed around most of the planet they
still tend to be spoken more in specific geographical locations and that
makes it easier for LoCo teams to meet up and organise events together.
If you happen to be in a different geographical location then try
looking for LoCo teams of relevant 'local' languages to join in.
Personally i never get involved with meeting and socialising although i
did join in once by accident and quite enjoyed the sense of freedom i
got from being with like-minded people.
Regards from
Tom :)

Hello,
my name is Daniel Schury, I'm a member of the german Ubuntu
Translation-Team. A user contacted us because he translated this
wiki-page:
https://help.ubuntu.com/11.10/installation-guide/i386/linux-upgrade.html
The question is, is there a chance you could use this translation? If
so, we would take a look at it and send it to you.
