[Bug 586127] Re: multiverse enabled by default
I have checked this by doing a clean install.
You are correct.
The following are enabled by default.
Canonical supported Open Source software (main)
Community maintained Open Source software (universe)
Proprietary drivers (restricted)
Software restricted by copyright or legal issues (multiverse)
I will update the documentation as appropriate.

Status in Ubuntu Manual: In Progress
Bug description:
I am reading the Ubuntu Manual rev. 788 (as part of the "Show us ya bugs" initiative), and in Chapter 3, on p. 88, I believe I have discovered an incorrect information error. The Manual states, "So that you can play all videos and DVDs, you will need to install some codecs. This is done by enabling the Multiverse repositories (for how to do this see Chapter 5: Software Management)." My understanding, however, is that Multiverse is enabled by default.
