Re: [Blueprint chapter9] Chapter 9 - Troubleshooting

Elan (and any others who may have ideas on this):

A few comments:

 - Thanks for making progress on the chapter so far!

 - A general comment is to have the user troubleshoot Ubuntu using graphical
tools as much as possible -- while some command line is necessary (for
example, to reinstall grub), in other situations it is not (installing
fonts, installing restricted extras). I recommend guiding the user to
install some tool from the Software Center that performs the fix, if one is
available, or from Synaptic if one is available there, and only using the
command line if nothing else works for the situation.

 - For items that must be added, I think that you should research (online, I
guess, or in IRC in #ubuntu, or by creating a survey) what people think the
most common problems are. While there are great resources like the
ubuntuguide.org which cover a billion different situations, we need to
identify 10 or so that are the most common, or cause the most headaches for
new users. Without some amount of research we cannot really say that we are
working to satisfy the user need.

Also, thanks for maintaining
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-manual/Troubleshooting -- this is very much
what I think we need for every chapter.

Thoughts / comments?
