Re: Shared pdf draft 5
Hi again,
I went through Draft 5 (trying not to repeat the comments which I made in
Draft 4), @Hannie in passing I commented on the highlighted bits without
comments (at least what I thought they could be).
Things which jump out:
Chapter 3, section "All The Applications You Need" is quite inconsistent
and many of the app-type subsections run into wild opinion! It could really
do with a structure (for each app-type) and an overall aim for the
section... I found it very hard to understand/read.
"Reading and composing email" section is really tough to read: it's missing
capitalisation, bolding and emphasis (though I think the content is good).
Large pictures center across the entire page rather than center across the
text (which looks strange), perhaps these large pictures should be shrunk?
The naming convention chosen in its chapter is "Dash" rather than "dash",
"the dash", "the dash", "the Dash", or "The Dash" (all are in use somewhere
in the text! :) )
Many sections use the bolding/italic special character > incorrectly, and
have instead used quotations ' ' (these look even stranger as quotations
should be ` '). The majority of the manual where these are used correctly
is very easy to read, and I suspect user-friendly - once the reader has the
hang of it!
Sorry everything seems negative, but all the other things are coming along
great!
