Hi Hannie and All,

Hi Sylvie,
Sorry for my interfering, but I did not quite understand this menu bar
thing. When I open Files in Xenial, I see the menu bar at the top with
the following drop-down menus: File Edit View Go Bookmarks Help.
Have I misunderstood your description in 16.04 below?
Hannie

Oops! You can forget everything I said yesterday about Files menus: it seems my virtual machine was malfuncionning, I had tu restart it twice this morning, and now I see Files menu bar (in the Global menu).

  Sorry for that!

Hi All,

This message brings some extra work for Tiffany ;-)

"menu bar The menu bar is located at the top of the screen. The Files
menu allows you to modify the layout of the browser, show, browse and
remove bookmarks, open a Help document, open a new window, connect to a
server, or quit. Choosing Enter Location will open the Locations text
field where you can enter any location directly."

There is no menu bar in the 16.04 version of Files!
I couldn't find any way of entering a location
Opening a new window or quitting can be done via the icon
To add a bookmark, drag a folder from the right pame to the left
pane and drop it on the "New Bookmarks" links that appears in the left
pane

"left pane The left pane of the file browser—titled Places—has
shortcuts to commonly used directories. You can also bookmark a
directory through the toolbar by choosing Bookmarks ‣ Bookmark this
Location. Once you have bookmarked the directory, it should appear in
the left pane. Regardless of the directory you are currently browsing,
the left pane will always contain the same directories."

The left pane no longer has a title
There is no Bookmark option in the toolbar

  Greetings,

       - Sylvie
