Title:
gpg keyserver should be adapted to ubuntu keyserver
Status in Ubuntu Packaging Guide:
Fix Committed
Bug description:
Unfortunately there is sometimes trouble to make launchpad familiar
with a key that has been made public with the line from
http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/getting-set-up.html#create-
your-gpg-key
exatly I mean:
$ gpg --send-keys <KEY ID>
I have encountered everytime on different systems problems with this.
This seems to be not for every user the case, but occure sometimes as
a google serach has given.
On the other hand a adaption the line to
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GnuPrivacyGuardHowto
with
gpg --send-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com <KEY ID>
do always work.
It may be enough to add in the package guide a hint for this
workarround, because it takes hours to find this. This may be caused
by the launchpad hint just to wait if the finderpront import do not
work.
Very frustrating if you wait and wait and try again and wait . . .
.This manpower should be used not with waiting and getting frustrated.
greetings
melchiaros
