Re: Developer toolkit
Hey Jonathan,
In reference to the gestures - the shell already uses the right edge, left edge and top edge of the screen.
For an application you can easily use swipes in the content area (to turn a page for example). If you are turning a page that is visible on screen then it makes most sense that the interaction be performed on the content of screen itself.
We will be providing guidance on use of gestures but for reference the basic gestures available to you would be:
Tap
Double tap
Long press
Swipe
Drag
Pinch / spread
Bottom edge swipe (for example we use this in applications to reveal controls / chrome)

Or the same "anything-goes" anarchy of the desktop? Are there any plans to release any of the currently-made apps source to aspiring developers for inspiration or should we just wait for the upcoming image/ use the basic sample app? Will there be any convergence on the desktop with regards to the toolkit/SDK? (This I REALLY don't expect answered, but I'm dying to know.) I'm personally trying to (again) work on a Library solution for Ubuntu and for a reader, it's natural for a reader to pull from an edge to turn the page, did you consider that the phone will limit some more natural gestures in this way?
