Re: [Ubuntu-touch-coreapps] [Design][Weather] Weather key journeys
Hi Bruno,
Thanks for your feedback!
BBC certainly has a nice weather app with the side by side comparison.
However, with our weather app concept, we were quite keen on the idea of
a timeline (similar to the Calendar app), whereby you can see the
weather throughout the day and across days by scrolling up and down!
We're also exploring visual elements at the moment, so we will certainly
look at how we want to display different weather information, such as
wind direction!
What exactinformation we will be able to display is largely dependent on
the back end system, we hope that we can expand on the information
available in the future as we are aware that users from different
locations would be interested in seeing different information. Hope this
helps!
Cheers,
Christina

Small detail: the degree sign should be °, not '.
With regards to comparing yesterday and today (or tomorrow if you
consider forecast over several days), a side by side comparison would
work better, possibly with the ability to swipe through it.
BBC Weather shows this in a very simple but effective form on their
home page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/
Their graphics for wind speed and direction is also very easy to
understand and impossible to get wrong: the issue when you just say
"SW 5km/h" is that people often wonder: is it blowing *from* the
Southwest or *towards* the Southwest?
Now for the nice to have features:
Another thing I like on the BBC web site is the fact that they show
maximum and minimum temperatures.
Wind chill factor would be very useful to have too (probably more
importa nt in the UK than in Sydney).
Severe weather warning indicator would be cool too!
Cheers,
Bruno
