Landing team 11.03.14

Hey,

landing team continue to be hard at work and juggle with vUDS at the same time!

We got one image promoted #229, let's celebrate that first!
2 more images were produced and some regressions are tracked. Another issue discussed on the mailing list and on IRC about some click applications not starting is also under work (but current highlights are showing up that the issue isn't due to recent images).

#230:
- this one contains a new Mir stack, with screencasting support and some performance improvements
- fix delay when enabling/disabling speaker mode during a voice call on mako
- some location-service code rewrite and improvements
- new clock and weather app with alarm fixes and AP tests fixes.

-> on that image, all tests (but the Qt5.0 v8 crash making some random tests failing) are passing now, thanks to clock and weather fix. \o/ This is a huge achievement as it means that once we get Qt 5.2 in, we should be back at 100% AP tests passing. However, this image introduced a crash on every test which doesn't seem to directly impact the user experience (as it's when unity8 is stopping). So, if you look at the dashboard, don't be afraid by the number of crashes :)

This crash has been investigated and Gerry has a fix in unity-mir for it.

#231 (kicked early in the EU day):
- this one got the revert of revert of autopilot + some new fixes.
- the new ground for the new icon theme support has been introduced (not active yet) - unity-mir and unity-system-compositor contains multiple bug fixes (however, this predate the crash fix we talked earlier).

-> The tests are getting similar results than the previous image.
However, it seems that unity8 has 2 new failures and system-settings 3 news. This was due to the new autopilot version. We found as well that their pre-release testing job didn't update to latest autopilot for upstream, so results on their side was good. A fix is on the way from Thomi and will land ASAP.

A new click landing is going to happen to fix the "can't launch application" issue which appeared to be random (in fact, you're impacted if you updated your click applications manually). We are getting as well the unity-mir crash fix for unity8 on stop.

We'll resume normal landings after getting an image with those 3 fixes built:
- autopilot
- click
- unity-mir
And kick a new image. Nothing risky should enter in between.

Then, we'll continue juggling with the Qt 5.2 update to let some landings to happen. Just don't go too crazy as that means a lot of extra work on our side :)

Cheers,
Didier
