Landing team 29.10.14

Hello everyone,

We're getting near to the cut-off day for our landings in preparation
for the ubuntu-rtm/14.09 channel image promotion. If you have anything
important to land, please land it now! Tomorrow might be too late (at
least for this image).
The Product Team will probably still consider some exceptions, but it's
best not to rely on this to get important changes in the image. There
will be other image promotions later anyway - no worries.

We still do not have any vivid images built, but Oliver is close to
making those finally fully build-able. Please remember that the first
images might be broken though.

It is recommended for all non-developers to stay on the 14.09 channel.

QA is still performing the first pre-promotion sanity check of the
recent image to catch all possible blockers as soon as possible.
Currently we only have one from the user visible side [1], with also one
automation failure marked as blocking.
All of those can be seen on the blocker list below.

The issue list has been slightly re-organized and cleaned up. The
'Blocking Issues' list is essentially the list of blockers as found by
the QA team which have been acknowledged by the Product Team. All others
are essentially 'possible' blockers, but not yet approved by upper
management and/or still pending further validation.

QA is also starting to look into our test automation. Many QA engineers
will now browse through all of our dashboards and try helping upstream
developers in making their tests more reliable, fixing the outstanding
problems. Great initiative!
