Re: Porting Guide
@fabio
Having a porting community on gplus or other platforms is fine, but that
wasn't my point.
Having such communities will still involve asking someone for directions
which i think the irc and forums are already doing
My point is about a video tutorial. Even if an hour long, explaining, not
the basics ( like download phablet or building an already existing device )
but this time, specifically about porting.
So things like Making the device specific changes, this part to be precise:
https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/start/ubuntu-for-devices/porting-new-device/#anchor3
The whole porting idea revolves about the device specific changes, so if
that could be hammered away, ooh what a breeze it'll be.
I understand porting involves try and error but its easier trying and
'erroring' legitimately, than doing so without any idea if on the right
path or not.
I'm specifically looking to port for the z2 xperia Sony. I've seen Ubuntu
ported for the z1 or z, some 2 years ago. But the developer isnt anymore
active, and he almost left behind nothing so substantial as in docs to
guide in porting. Would have been really great if the 'porters' also do a
bit of detailing sometimes.
Thanks Daniel, for pointing out the forum and irc. Will check them out.

your best chances of catching the engineers working on Ubuntu is here or
in #ubuntu-touch on irc.freenode.net.
Another option is http://forum.xda-developers.com/ubuntu-touch
Have a great day,
