Ok, so I tried formatting the card on the S3 mini and then putting it

It seems to recognize the card now.

Isn't this an issue? What else could I have done if I didn't have an
Android phone available?

Why didn't the BQ recognize the card out of the box like the S3 mini
(Android) did?

well, it should at least have offered you to format the card if it can
not make any use of it in the original formatting, this sounds like a
bug ...

file it with the above link, though i am not sure if there is much we
can do now that the card has been properly re-formatted already ...

What can be done is make a list of well known compatible cards, so people know what card to buy. That doesn't solve the problem, but at least save some people money and frustration.
Who would be able to create such a list?

Kind regards,
