Hey Zoltán,

I decided to be brave because I loved that blog post and went ahead and installed all of it.

Ubuntu SDK IDE starts up as slowly as usually, but once it's running it actually feels more snappy (no pun intended), it seems as though some of the background processing is happening faster. Opening, folling around with, and running a random project worked fine.
Could you check if "click-chroot-agent" is actually started from the package? Not the one installed in /usr/bin. I have a feeling that might be broken...

λ ps -lA | grep chroot
1 S 1000 5768 7889 0 80 0 - 37812 poll_s ? 00:00:00 click-chroot-ag

The Help page seems to have a glitch, all CSS styling is missing, all I'm getting is black/white/blue. Although it works fine otherwise.
Only for UITK, or for all help pages?

There is no UITK in there at all.

It's all Qt documentation.

Installing the API packages didn't go well - they installed but I got lots of error messages from the shell. Logs attached - output is part German but as the packages technically installed I can't re-run it, let me know if you need help making sense of it.

Regards,
    Christian

Hi all,

I have just posted on the Developer blog ->

https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/blog/2015/09/01/next-generation-sdk/

I kindly invite anybody for testing this new kind of Ubuntu SDK.

No need to get scared :) the UI and the flow is the same as now... just much faster to set up and brings the very same bits to LTS users as to Wily riders.

For the brave it takes only that much ->

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/tools-development -y && sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-sdk-ide ubuntu-sdk-api-tools ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-armhf ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-i386

After that you can have a hot beverage break :) depending on your network as it downloads ~1GB data. But once it is done, you are good to go :)

Note, this is not officially released yet! It is more like a tech preview.

Feedbacks, comments and ideas are welcome.

cheers,

bzoltan
