This bug has been fixed yesterday with the latest webbrowser-app version
- it will be available for everyone with the next stable image (OTA-7).

Our webbrowser is a custom-made application that's using oxide-qt, so
using a Chromium-powered webview. So the very core of the browser is
based on Chromium bits, but everything else has been made from scratch
by our developers

I'm pretty sure that'll happen. A lot also depends on other companies
and developers to develop their webbrowsers for our platform.
