Old/new convergence API ?

Hi,

In first version of Ubuntu SDK, there was the Layout API [1].
Then the new convergence API appeared [2].

How do they fit together when we want to develop an app with convergence ?

In the documentation of new api, would it be possible to add a a link toexisting blogs [3] ?
