Re: Phone/dialer app error
I have similar problem (Meuzu MX4 Ubuntu):
- I'm trying to dial accessing number from Contacts (from dialer-app)
and call drops with "Connection terminated" (looks like without
actually calling). I've checked that the phone on the other side was
not busy (I called from office phone and it was ok).
- Waiting some time resolves the problem, but this "some time" can be
seconds and can be minutes - I never understood what was the reason.
I guess this issue started with OTA-5.
This problem happens every day. Phone reboot resolves it (works
better than waiting because it just works in definite time).
I would like to report several other issues with dialer-app on
MX4:
- while calling someone phone goes in energy saving mode and
even after I type PIN it's impossible to hang-up the call.
Work-around: wait till other party hangs it or reboot the phone :-)
- fast access to last dialed numbers or contacts can hang dialer-app
(with "last dialed numbers" it happens much more often): "last dialed
numbers" shortcut do not pop-up when I'm trying to access it.
Work-around: restart dialer-app.
- dialer-app becomes unresponsive (I saw it 3 times from OTA-7)
In general Ubuntu touch in really good for one looking for tablet
replacement but its just not ready as a phone OS - dialer-app does not
have minimal functionality for making calls in fast and comfortable
way:
- fast contact selection (time to load contacts is unacceptable for
normal use)
- contact guessing based on typed number
- fast call ending
Waiting for stable dialer-app...
