yes, one is a channel and the other a flavour ;)
(there are stable as well as rc-proposed channels for the various pd
images ;))

if you use an ubuntu-pd image i doubt you will get more than
the .desktop files. they would have to ship a pre-defined chroot like
the M10 image, that results in a few gig of extra size ...

the ubuntu-pd image ships with libertine preinstalled though, you should
technically be able to create your own container following [1].
(note that the terminal app might block some required commands, better
use adb or ssh to execute whats on that google doc).
