Hi Mark,
just a remark (pun not intended): Franz still requires you to have a phone
that is already connected to WhatsApp. Franz is just a glorified browser
that lets you easily access the *web* services of popular services.

That is, you'll still need an Android/iOS phone with WhatsApp installed.
