Keyboard input methods
Dear Devs,
I've been using Ubuntu on my nexus 4 for a while now. You did some
excellent work. I'm loving libertine containers.
Praises aside, I'm hoping you might have some time to address a usability
problem for the Ubuntu phone keyboard. When dealing with Chinese language
input, users not only need the ability to choose between simplified and
traditional characters, but also the input method. Not everyone who uses
ZhuYin FuHao ( listed as chewing input method on the phone) uses
traditional characters. Most of us non-natives only know how to use PinYin
input and only know how to read traditional characters.
On desktop Ubuntu, while using PinYin there's a switch to choose between
traditional and simplified Chinese characters. This is a very essential
feature.
Is it possible for you to add such an option for the next OTA? How much
work would that task entail?
Thanks,
Jose'
