Re: An Attempt at Porting Ubuntu Phone to a Samsung Galaxy S4

Hello,
about Cyanogenmod, there are multiple versions for the various variants of
the device. These have been merged into a single one (jflte) in the
Cyanogenmod 11 release. but have been splitted again from CM 12 as
maintenance became hard. Multiple variants are currently supported. I use
daily CM 13 jfltexx which is nightly updated.

About the driver enablement of Ubuntu on a mobile device, the Android
drivers stack is used as a facilitator, as it makes the porting easier for
an already enabled device. Nevertheless enabling a device from scratch
should actually be possible without the Android stack.

Thanks for your work.

Cheers,
Fabio
