Re: Ubuntu Phone Forum?
I'm aware that Ubuntu Touch is used for more than the current trio of OEMs
My point is that the annoying bugs and related issues of the current 6
supported devices is precisely because insufficient focus has been
brought to bear on them.
Admittedly the current Ubuntu Edition devices are no longer able to be
purchased, unless one does as I did, and purchases a Flyme, or Android
version (Nexus, Pro 5, MX4), and installs Ubuntu.
Question for those reading this thread -- what would be the likely
result if say $100k was spent employing (or deploying) Ubuntu software
engineers purely for working on the remaining bugs for the BQ4.5? And if
the same was done for the Pro 5, etc. a highly targeted effort for the
supported devices would get results. It's just a matter of money and focus.
Even the simple fact of discussing Ubuntu Touch for "other" devices (the
list is long), is testimony to that lack of focus.
I would think it is far more prudent and useful to have 100% success
with 5 devices, rather than 5% success with a 100 devices.
