[Bug 1516312] Re: Files don't appears after language change
I had exactly the same issue when changing language from EN to FR and/or updating to OTA-8.
Re-installing File Manager or setting back language to EN didn't changed anything : no file/sub-folder displayed in Documents, Music, Pictures, etc.
Nonetheless, I succeeded to solved the issue:
1. start file manager
2. "click" (touch) the menu which allows to display file by list/icon (in french : Afficher par listes/icones)
->Then, any folder's content will appear. Problem solved
It's seem that when language is changed, the "display by" option is
reseted to nothing, making files and folders invisible...

Title:
Files don't appears after language change
Status in Ubuntu File Manager App:
New
Bug description:
Hi,
After last upgrade the files is not shown anymore. In the directory
properties the count is correct. Showing hidden files or unlock full
access don't change anything (except files numbers in properties).
I have tried uninstall / reinstall the App and switching to english US
(originally I am in french Fr) to try if it is a locale problem but
nothing changed.
I have noticed the "View As" option have seems don't have value (no
text is the right of "View As"). I have selected an option and the
files appears now without problem.
I think the upgrade (or an other thing) have set this parameter to an
incorrect value and is not reset to a correct one in this case.
Thanks
