Re: Explaining Words with tooltips or Links
Hello,
I think images can attract user to look into the ubuntu-tour. The mockup is
good. With some add-on images would simplify the explanation and clearer
view. My 2 cents. J
Best regards,
Wilson

My personal opinion would be that it would be better to stay clear of as
much jargon that would actually require further information / glossaries as
possible.
I maintain that the case where a person is running Ubuntu Tour for the first
time will probably be a little stressful for them and they really risk
getting information overload. Bombarding them could put them off.

Hi
Based on the fact that ubuntu-tour should be helpful and easy-to-understand
for total beginners as well as not boring for little-experienced users I
propose another layer of informations. Look at my (not very nice) mockup.
:-)
For example GNOME: Wherefrom a person should know that this is the name of a
piece of software? If it is software, why can't i find a starter for "GNOME"
in the applications menu. (by the way I don't mind any important reason why
the user should know that Ubuntu works with GNOME, but that is another
topic)
Short inconspicuous and clickable links in the text can solve that problem.
Each user can decide what he want to know without getting lost in the
ubuntu-tour space, as it would happen if we use Foo
