Title:
  FeatureFreeze/StringFreezeException

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hello,

this is a request for a UI freeze/feature freeze exception to tie up the loose ends we have in software-center.
We would like to get approval for the following changes:

  = Show recommendations-per-category =
This extends the current "show global recommendations" feature to subcategories and is super low risk
as the same code is used, the query just has a additional "AND category" appended to it. The impact on the
UI is one additional string ("Recommended for you in %s") and because its opt in it will probably not affect
  the default screenshots.
  (the branch is lp:~gary-lasker/software-center/recommendations-categories-view)

  = Opt-out button for the recommendations =
The user should be able to opt-out of the recommendations again if he no longer wants to share his/her
system information. This adds a menu item and a dialog. The UI impact is two additional strings.
  (the branch is lp:~gary-lasker/software-center/recommendations-opt-out)

  = OpengGL driver blacklist =
This is a feature driven by the commercial games we have. Some of them will not run on particular drivers
(like intel) and therefore we want to show a warning. The impact on the UI is one additional string. Its using
the detection backend from debtagshw but because for is no hardware tag in debtags for the driver it has
to be done like this (as a private extension to debtags hardware:: tag).
  (the branch is lp:~mvo/software-center/opengl-driver-blacklist)

= Show Terms of service dialog =
This is driven by the legal departament. We need to show our terms-of-service to the user when he/she
purchases a application. The impact on the UI is a additional dialog with a string and a menu item. In
total three additional strings. Documentation is most likely not affected as its just shown once.
  (the branch is lp:~mvo/software-center/tos-dialog)

Sorry for this late request but please note that the amount of changes is relatively small for each of the four
  items.

I'm happy to provide more information/diffs etc, just let me know.

  Thanks,
   Michael
