Title:
Move polkit support to the upstream branch
Status in Ubuntu Translations:
Fix Released
Status in “synaptic” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Currently, polkit support for Synaptic exists only as an Ubuntu patch:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
branches/ubuntu/precise/synaptic/precise/view/head:/debian/patches
/11_use-pkexec.dpatch
This is not ideal from i18n POV, because it adds a quite visible string, which is not translatable, because
- the policy.in file is not listed in POTFILES.in
- even if it were, Synaptic is now in Universe, so we have no langpack/translations support for the Ubuntu Synaptic package.
Therefore, I'd like to request to integrate this patch properly into
the upstream tree.
