[Bug 1276059] [NEW] Login box title is confusing
Public bug reported:
Hi,
Ubuntu is a (the?) distro that is meant to "hold peoples hand" through
at least the basic tasks, so I think this is a fair comment. This
morning I had a user complain that their password wasn't working. They
were typing the password into the box titled "Login" on the Unity start
screen.
Issue: The box has the title "Login".
Expected: It would be less confusing if it were called "Username".
This is in 12.04 but I think it is something to change moving forward in
trusty rather than the current LTS.
I was tempted to check this is a security vulnerability, as the person
was typing the password in clear text in the login box but that might be
stretching it a little :). The password then appears in the logs. The
relevant log files are however locked down to root.
** Affects: ubuntu-translations
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
