My proposed fix was rejected with this comment:

"Going to reject now since gnome-software got unpatched, snap-store has
the Ubuntu improvements and gnome-software is back to be what upstream
provides"

Bug description:
  The "Sign In…" string seems to be untranslated in deb version of GNOME
  Software on Ubuntu 20.04 and is not available for translation on
  Launchpad.
