Re: Ohio Linux

Hi Everyone,

I just joined the team yesterday. I will contribute via PayPal today, and I'm willing to help out at the OLF as I plan to attend. I'm looking forward to participating in this group.

Paypal things should be handled at this form:

Checks can be sent via mail to:

P.O. Box 1658
Ashtabula, OH 44005

Checks MUST be sent via the US Postal Service with "Signature
Confirmation" service so I have to sign for it. You can arrange through
the postal service's website to get a nice report showing the details
for when I sign for it.

When in doubt, do PayPal first.

Jordan: Please set the deadline for money to come so this does not drag
on too long.

Fearless Leader (a.k.a. Paul): What would it take to establish a total
board so people could track progress towards the fundraising goal? The
total we need to collect is far less than what your average PBS
television station is after so this might not be a long-running process,
too.

I believe the options of either paypal or PO Box would be best suited
for group or individualistic decisions, or we can run both options. If
you are to have payments mailed to you, I would suggest mail orders, and
an email at the time that it is mailed with the amount mailed (in order
to keep track of total amounts). Paypal should be easy enough to track.

After the money is collected, I would prefer a money order mailed to me
(or UPS/signature type, whichever), so I can get it deposited (with no
need to wait for clearing), into the checking account and back out the
door the next day.

Hmm. I've got two ways I could help on this matter of collecting funds.

I do have a PayPal account and could take payments.

I do have a PO Box and can receive checks there too.

Which would help most?

Just as a follow-up/info part from me, I am more than happy to fill out
the forms and turn in the payment for the booth (and thereby be the
"responsible party"); however, I do not have the funds in order to pay
it. Also, I do not have a paypal account or anything else.

I believe in the past the money was gathered through someone else's
paypal and last year a check was sent to me (which was deposited and
forwarded to OLF). I would like to do this again, if someone wouldn't
mind volunteering a paypal account, or I guess donations can be sent to
me via snail-mail...

I will start contacting S76 as soon as booth arrangements are made and
power has been verified, they are doing the same deal as last year (the
first X booths registered will have free power, otherwise it's $90).
