[Bug 377366] [NEW] libxcb breaks libxcb-xlib0 No libxcb-xlib0 found after intrepid

Public bug reported:

Using a scanner program vuescan som works on all ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04 on installed as 386 system
This system installed as amd64 and only here I get :
./vuescan: error while loading shared libraries: libxcb-xlib.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Before 9.04 you found libxcb-xlib.so.0 in /usr/lib: intrepid (libdevel): 1.1-1.1
but it is missing now in: jaunty (libdevel): 1.1.93-0ubuntu3
I tried to install from debian but complained whith

dpkg -i libxcb-xlib0_1.1-1.1_amd64.deb
Väljer tidigare ej valt paket libxcb-xlib0.
(Läser databasen ... 122904 filer och kataloger installerade.)
Packar upp libxcb-xlib0 (från libxcb-xlib0_1.1-1.1_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: beroendeproblem förhindrar konfigurering av libxcb-xlib0:
 libxcb1 (1.1.93-0ubuntu3) förstör libxcb-xlib0 och är installerat.
dpkg: fel vid hantering av libxcb-xlib0 (--install):
 beroendeproblem - lämnar okonfigurerad
Fel uppstod vid hantering:
 libxcb-xlib0

** Affects: libxcb (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
