@jdemoor: that's strange. That workaround actually works for me. The X
server starts correctly (on one screen), after which I can use the
NVidia X Server Settings tool to activate and configure my other
screens. I'm now running with three monitors, but unfortunately without
compiz (deskopt effects) support.
