[Bug 382431] [NEW] Ubuntu locks up frequently on MacBook rev. E
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
Ubuntu 9.04, MacBook rev. E (early 2008)
For the past week or so, Ubuntu 9.04 has locked up frequently, about
once every hour.
The first symptoms are that the pointer will begin moving jerkily in
response to trackpad movement, and stop responding to keyboard input.
About a minute later, the pointer stops moving altogether. I then have
to shut down the computer by holding down the power button on my
MacBook.
If I switch to a text console with Fn+Ctrl+Alt+F1 when Ubuntu starts
becoming sluggish, I am able to enter my login name but Ubuntu never
gets around to asking me for my password. On one occasion this morning I
did manage to enter my password and run top before the computer stopped
responding completely, but it showed nothing unusual (no process using
more than 10% of CPU).
