[Bug 383216] [NEW] [i915] Jaunty X completely unusable
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
After upgrading to Jaunty Jakalope (Ubuntu 9.04) X is completely
unusable.
I attempted to follow the instructions on the release notes for the Safe
configuration, but still X is locking up on every load.
I have been forced to revert to 8.10.
I have not yet attempted an installation of Jaunty with the reverted
driver as I have to be able to use this computer for work.
This is a Dell Optiplex GX280 with hardware as listed in the attached
lspci -vvnn
Reading thru my Xorg.0.log it appears that its locking right before
being able to load XEVIE internal module, or at least the DAMAGE module
is the last thing loaded.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
