[Bug 384179] [NEW] Unable to use external display on ATI Radeon IGP320M (U1)

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon

I am unable to use an external display on ATI Radeon IGP320M (U1) video
card in a HP ze4365us laptop using Ubuntu 9.04. The LVDS display works
correctly, but I cannot get the VGA-0 display to work. When I start the
machine, the VGA port displays a clone of the LCD screen until X starts.
I have tried to enable the display using xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto,
but the display hooked up to VGA-0 remains off even though xrandr
indicates it is active.

Output of xrandr is below:

smurphy@smurphy-laptop:~$ xrandr -q
