I'm having the same freezing problem with my PS2 mouse. I'm running Jaunty with nvidia drivers enabled. 
This is my setup:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Motherboard ASUS A7V400-MX
NVidia FX 5200
1 Gb RAM DDR 400
2 IDE HDs (80 Gb + 40Gb)
1 CD Recorder drive + 1 DVD Recorder drive (both LG)
Philco 15" CRT Flat Monitor
PS2 keyboard + PS2 Mouse
DLink USB Camera
Epson CX 5600 USB printer/scanner

That's all...
Can anyone help with this issue?
