[Bug 374458] [NEW] Random Logitech Wireless Mouse Freeze (Kubuntu 9.04)

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

My Logitech wireless mouse will freeze up, generally within 5-15 minutes after booting up. There doesn't seem to be any particular usage pattern that triggers it, and I have found no way to recover except to reboot. If I just kill the X server, and allow KDM to start a new X session, the mouse remains frozen (so is this an xorg problem, or an underlying driver issue?). This occurs whether the mouse is attached via USB or PS/2. In either case, the keyboard remains active, and all other system functions appear normal.
I noticed this issue also occurs under Mint 7 RC1, which I believe uses the same kernel and X server as Kubuntu. The problem does *not* occur when using my Gentoo installation, so it's apparently a software issue rather than a hardware one.
