[Bug 389547] [NEW] karmic ati driver installed for jaunty and it's broken
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
I'm using Jaunty and a few days ago I had an upgrade for xserver-xorg-
video-ati and xserver-xorg-video-radeon. This upgrade installed version
1:6.12.2-2ubuntu1 for both packages. On next reboot X wouldn't start,
after xfix I had low resolution and 150 fps in glxgears instead of 2500.
I checked the packages site for Ubuntu and I noticed that version 1:6.12.2-2 is for Karmic. Version 1:6.12.1-0ubuntu2 is for Jaunty. I downgraded both packages to Jaunty version and now graphics are fine. When I try to update my system it wants to install the Karmic drivers again. I tried both the local repository (Hungarian) and the main one.
