[Bug 350247] Re: nvidia 8800 not detected properly in 9.04
honestly i haven't even bothered with it since i posted this. my
graphics card had died, i got it RMA'd and when i got it back i couldn't
get out of 640x480 on the jaunty install. booting into any distro's live
cd i get the "ee: no usable configurations found". i tried every fix i
could find through google and even contacted nvidia about it but nothing
worked.
xp, vista, 7, 10.4 and 10.5 (hackintosh) work just fine but none of the
options for linux work. envy, nvidia linux drivers, manual installs, or
updates. the latest debian and suse releases failed to even install.
i'll try and do a fresh install tonight, update accordingly, and get
back to you. if it doesn't work i'll provide as much information as i
can, but if there are specific logs you want you'll have to let me know.
i know everyone is trying hard to find a workaround since nvidia is
proprietary, i just can't work on a machine that can't go over 800x600
and it's been really frustrating, especially since i'm stuck with vista.
