[Bug 683658] [NEW] Intel GMA 4500M low resolution for external display

The external display of my brother is bad recognized on his laptop under ubuntu.
distro: ubuntu 10.10
laptop: Lenovo G530  with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
external display : LG E2250V capable of 1920 x 1080 max resolution ( well detected and working under winxp)

xrandr gives :
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
VGA1 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
   1360x768       59.8 
   1024x768       60.0*
   800x600        60.3     56.2 
   848x480        60.0 
   640x480        59.9     59.9 
LVDS1 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 331mm x 207mm
   1280x800       60.0 +
   1024x768       60.0*
   800x600        60.3     56.2 
   640x480        59.9 
DP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

where VGA1 is the external display.
So It is currently not possible to use it with higher resolution than what it is detected.
it is pity for an 22".
