[Bug 692112] [NEW] 64 bit ubuntu 10.10 mouse and keyboard freeze up

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

With a fresh install of 10.10 server, then apt-get install ubuntu-
desktop ..... after a while (can not seem to tell when or why) the mouse
and keyboard no longer take input. AsusP7P55D-E Premium Mother board
8gb memory. Tried the same with another system with a ASUS P4B533-E
mother board, and only 4gb of memory, and so far no problem..... Have
reinstalled clean MANY MANY times.....trying various options of
cloud, node, and nothing. Tried modifying the xorg.conf to CORRECTLY
recognize all 7 inputs of a 4 button plus tilt/press wheel on a
microsoft Explorer 2 mouse. 9.10 did not have any problem on any of this
hardware running for a year. Have lost a great deal of hair on right
side of my head over this one.... could really use some help.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
