[Bug 692656] [NEW] 10.10 live CD video garbage after bootup.

Public bug reported:

After the initial setup screen of Ubuntu 10.10 desktop version 32bir
live CD that asks if I want to try, install, test CD, etc. the screen
goes into a random bit pattern display during boot-up, and never
changes. I have to do a hard reset to get out of it.

I have tried the install option, same results. I have a Nvidia Geforce
GT240/ with 500MBs of memory. I have tested the download with md5sum,
did a Installation CD Integrity Check, everything was fine.

I tried the vga=771, nomodset, xforcevesa, and some others in the bootup command line of the live cd.

The display works great in Win7 and OpenSuse, Fedora, or PCLinux. In Win7 the display is running at 1680x1050 59Hz.

System: Asus P7P55D, 8GB ddr3 1600MHz memory, Intel i3, Zortac ZT-20405-10L GT240 R Graphics card.
