Public bug reported:

After this upgrade, I had the following problems:
1. A particular letter would be missing, or replaced by a strange symbol on a web page (using Firefox.)
2. Tabs in firefox and nautilus would have repeated horizontal patterns in them.
3. Directory icons in nautilus would be replaced by thin horizontal lines, but would reappear on mouse over.

All this behaviour has gone away since I reverted to 2:1.9.0-0ubuntu7

Some information reported using ubuntu-bug will not be relevant because
I had reverted to version 7 before I ran this program.
