I'm experiencing the same issue on a new installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
64bit (with latest kernel) on a Lenovo ThinkPad T410s also with intel
graphics adapter (based on the i5Core).

Strange thing is that a Lenovo ThinkPad T510 works without problems
(this one is based on i7Core but also intel graphics).

The problem only persists when enabling the external VGA monitor
adapter. The other outputs HDMI .. work just fine.

Is there any workaround or fix for this problem yet?
